On The Road Bible Study Year 3, #39

1. St. Matthew 15:21-28 (amp) "After leaving there, Jesus withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.  And a Canaanite woman from that district came out and began to cry out [urgently], saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David (Messiah); my daughter is cruelly possessed by a demon."  But He did not say a word in answer to her. And His disciples came and asked Him [repeatedly], "Send her away, because she keeps shouting out after us."  He answered, "I was commissioned by God and sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."  But she came and began to kneel down before Him, saying, "Lord, help me!"  And He replied, "It is not good (appropriate, fair) to take the children's bread and throw it to the pet dogs."  She said, "Yes, Lord; but even the pet dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their [young] masters' table."  Then Jesus answered her, "Woman, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in My power] is great; it will be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that moment."

     a) O Lord, my daughter is cruelly possessed by a demon, what we will do for our children.

     b) Jesus and the disciples knew the mission to go only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

     c) Because of her persistent faith, God changed the plan, the daughter was healed.

Say it/ do it/ receive it/ tell it: "Father God, we love and praise You, we cry out to God as parents and grandparents on behalf of our children and grandchildren, we will never                let up, we will be persistent in our faith, we don't want to take anything that belongs to someone else, but we have a covenant with You and we stand on Your promises and                  endeavor to live up to its conditions and lay claim to its benefits, to see and experience victory and deliverance in every area of our children and grandchildren and even our                  own lives, we refuse to quit or give up or give in or doubt or have any unbelief, we know that our faith in You and Your Word will bring results, in Jesus name..."

2. St. Matthew 16:1-4 (amp) "Now the Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus [to get something to use against Him], they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven [which would support His divine authority].  But He replied to them, "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.'  And in the morning, 'It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and has a threatening look.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but cannot interpret the signs of the times?  An evil and [morally] unfaithful generation craves a [miraculous] sign; but no sign will be given to it, except the sign of [the prophet] Jonah." Then He left them and went away."

     a) Religious people always try to test Jesus and His Word, looking for some kind of sign.

     b) It is amazing how well we know the weather and weather conditions, know what to wear.

     c) An evil/ immoral society cannot interpret the signs of the times, what's in the scriptures.

Say it/ do it/ receive it/ tell it: "Father God, help us not to be a people of religion but of a relationship with You, that we don't just pay attention to the weather and how to dress            for the day, but what is on the horizon, coming on the scene, things that are promised in the Word of God, more accurate than any news or newspaper, we find out fro reading              and studying and meditating on the Bible, to have some discernment, living our lives like Jesus could come back any moment, to be ready to go and witnessing and encouraging            others to be ready to go, no man knows the day or the hour for His return, we are to watch..."

3. St. Matthew 16:13-19 (amp) "Now when Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, " Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"  And they answered, "Some say John the Baptist; others, Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah, or [just] one of the prophets."  He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"  Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the Son of the living God."  Then Jesus answered him, "Blessed [happy, spiritually secure, favored by God] are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood (mortal man) did not reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.  And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades (death) will not overpower it [by preventing the resurrection of the Christ].  I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven."

     a) We ask ourselves the question who do we say the son of man is, the correct answer, Jesus

     b) Jesus Christ is the son of the living God, we don't get that by flesh and blood but revelation

     c) This revelation builds the church and all hell couldn't stop the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Say it/ do it/ receive it/ tell it: "Father God, we realize a lot of people are confused on who Jesus is, not just a good man, He was the son of God, the son of man, he is one in                the trinity, He is our Lord and Savior, He has risen from the dead, He died for our sins to release us, we have had a personal encounter with Him and found it to be so, all those            who have not can do so because its available to all those who are spiritually dead, this revelation of this gospel message of Christ being raised from the dead, His resurrection is            what the gates of hell cannot stop, its too late, we have been given authority and power over all the power of the enemy to bind and loose on this earth according to the                      directions of God's holy Word, in Jesus name, amen."
